  • Hold your camera steady. Use the strap for stabilization – make it tight enough. Put your left hand under the lens, while your right hand holds the camera’s right side. Keep your elbows in and if possible, rest one elbow on your body. You can rest your body against a wall or steady your elbows on a table. Try to increase the points of steadiness: strap, elbows, leaning against a wall.

  • If you are shooting with a smartphone, HOLD IT SIDEWAYS! This gives you the most compatible options for playback and looks most professional. You don’t want that amateur, wasted space look of something blurry to the right and left of your vertical shot.
